The Show Must Go On...

Due to recent restrictions and safety during these trying times, The Belmont Theatre Board of Directors and staff have made the difficult decision of postponing all productions through the end of 2020. Safety is paramount and will remain the most important factor in how we move forward. Please consider donating by clicking the DONATE NOW button on our website. Our lights are currently dim, but with your help we can ensure a bright future when we are able to raise our curtain again safely.

You are invited to view our holiday concert December 4-January 1.

AT HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, sponsored by WellSpan Health, will feature a variety of performers who have performed at The Belmont. This holiday event will be emceed by WGAL 8’s Jere Gish.

Come back on December 10 for the debut of an original, inspirational comedy by Christine Koslosky, entitled “Cowan’s Co-vid Christmas,” directed by Joel Persing. We are grateful that WellSpan Health is sponsoring this event as well.

These videos will be free to view but we encourage you to click the purple DONATE NOW button to help the theatre weather the storm until we can safely open our doors again in 2021.

Please click the purple DONATE NOW button over the moving dancer above, or mail a check to 27 South Belmont Street, York, PA 17403, or call the box office M-F from 9am-5pm to make your donation by credit card.

All current productions are being rescheduled. We hope to reopen in early 2021 with THE MIRACLE WORKER, but we will continue to monitor the situation and update our plans accordingly. If you already purchased tickets for a production that was postponed, there will be an automatic transfer to the new date when new dates are announced. Per our ticket policy, because no shows are being cancelled, just postponed, refunds are not available. We will gladly exchange your tickets or credit your account for a future production.

Enjoy clicking through our website to see what we have planned for 2021!

Upcoming show

The Miracle Worker

Dates TBA, 2021
A Drama by William Gibson

Immortalized onstage and screen by Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke, this classic tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute Helen Keller. The Miracle Worker dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her charge. Trapped in a secret, silent world, unable to communicate, Helen is violent, spoiled, almost sub-human and treated by her family as such. Only Annie realizes that there is a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from the dark, tortured silence. With scenes of intense physical and emotional dynamism, Annie's success with Helen finally comes with the utterance of a single, glorious word: "water."

In my humble opinion, Broadway worthy productions for a very low cost. Well done!

The Belmont is fantastic! The shows are in the same class as broadway!
