The Belmont Theatre is pleased to announce it has entered into a managerial and administrative agreement with Creative York, a local nonprofit arts organization serving more than 10,000 individuals annually through exhibitions, arts education, and community outreach programs.

As part of the agreement, Creative York will assume day-to-day management responsibilities at The Belmont. Lyn Bergdoll, current Executive Director of Creative York and former longtime Executive Director of The Belmont, will lead administrative and organizational efforts at the theatre.

“Creative York was founded to support and celebrate all forms of artistic expression,” said Bergdoll. “Through this agreement, we are pleased to provide leadership support to The Belmont and help ensure continuity in the theatre’s operations.”

The agreement enables The Belmont to draw on Creative York’s experience in nonprofit management, financial stewardship, and organizational planning, as well as Bergdoll’s firsthand knowledge of the theatre’s operations and history.

“For nearly 100 years, The Belmont has been a cornerstone of community theatre in York,” said Bryan Tate, Board President of The Belmont Theatre. “Engaging Creative York’s administrative guidance and Lyn’s experience provides steady leadership and operational support as we move forward.”

Through the agreement, Creative York will support preparations for the York County Bar Association’s The Bar Stools highly anticipated musical production, The Game of Groans, running April 30 through May 2 at The Belmont.

“This agreement represents a meaningful opportunity for Creative York to further our mission of supporting and strengthening the arts in our community,” said Creative York Board President, Attorney Niles Benn. “The Belmont Theatre is a true historic gem in York, and we are honored to provide the administrative leadership and organizational expertise needed to support its continued success. Lyn’s experience leading both organizations uniquely positions her to guide this work with insight, continuity, and a deep understanding of what makes each institution so important to our community.”
